Asunción, Agencia IP.- Jean-Philippe Gavois, the designated Ambassador of the French Republic to the Government of the Republic of Paraguay, presented his credentials at a ceremony at the Government Palace this Tuesday, where President Santiago Peña received him. With this ceremony, the diplomat officially begins his duties in the country.
Jean-Philippe Gavois is a career diplomat who studied at the Institutes of Political Studies in Strasbourg and Aix, and holds an advanced degree in public administration.
Throughout his diplomatic career and service in the French central administration, he has held various positions, including Political Counselor in Hanoi and Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs in Colombo. He also served in the Directorate for the United Nations and International Organizations.
Since August 2022, he has been serving as First Counselor at the French Embassy in Lima.
Among his distinctions is the Medal of Honor for Foreign Affairs, bronze grade.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, accompanied the President during the ceremony held this morning at the Government Palace.
