Asunción, Agencia IP.- According to data from international platform Nomads.com, which specializes in monitoring trends and movements of digital nomads and remote workers around the world, Asunción ranks No. 18 among the cities with the fastest growth in digital nomad arrivals in 2026, recording a 40% increase compared to the previous nine months.
The report places the Paraguayan capital among the global Top 20 emerging destinations for this segment, alongside cities in Asia, Europe and Latin America that are gaining prominence as hubs for innovation, quality of life and connectivity for professionals working remotely.
The measurement is based on an analysis of more than 425,000 travel records and check-ins made by members of the Nomads.com global community, one of the leading platforms for digital nomads. The ranking identifies destinations seeing the fastest growth in remote-worker arrivals this year.
Factors making Asunción an increasingly attractive option include its competitive cost of living, Paraguay’s macroeconomic stability, digital connectivity, the hospitality of its people, and the growing availability of spaces for remote work and entrepreneurship. These attributes have helped the city gain visibility within an international community that prioritizes destinations offering a good quality of life and favorable conditions for carrying out professional activities remotely.
According to the ranking, Asunción is among the cities with the fastest growth worldwide, alongside destinations such as Uluwatu (Indonesia), Hoi An and Da Nang (Vietnam), Shenzhen and Beijing (China), Stockholm (Sweden), Seoul (South Korea), and Istanbul (Türkiye).
This recognition represents an opportunity to further strengthen Paraguay’s international positioning as a destination for the digital economy, knowledge-based investment and long-stay tourism.
